Python Exercise – Os Module
Complete the following exercise using the python methods contained resources attached.
EXERCISE 1A
Follow the instructions in the starter file (practice-set-3.py, inside the PS3 directory once unzipped) to accomplish the following tasks:
– PS 1.1 – Print all directories in the PS3 directory (10 points)
Write a function directory_choice() that prints the names of all the directories in the current working directory (but not the files), then ask the user to choose one of the directories. If the user gives you something that isn’t valid (isn’t a directory name), ask again until it’s a valid directory name.
Example output:
– PS 1.2 – Create three new files in the PS3 directory
Using the os module and your file skills, create three new files in our current directory:
file-4.txt, file-5.txt and file-6.txt
– PS 1.3 – Print files inside of a directory
Expand your code from PS 3.1 by writing a new function print_files()
In your main, once you have selected a valid directory (PS 3.1), add functionality to move into the selected directory,
and then print out all valid file names. (each file name should print on its own line, do not print any directories)
Example output:3.3.
3. ZIP up your PS 3 starter directory (including your completed practice-set-3.py) and submit it separately.

Download the starter file attached, which contains the directions — the directions are also posted below in this exercise. Fill in the starter code with your own work. Submit your completed PS 4 python file.

NOTE:
- Complete the following 4 program parts in Python.
- All four parts should be contained inside one program.
- Think of this assignment as 4 steps of one big program.
– PS 2.1 – Read data in from a file (5 points)
- Read in the contents of cheeses.txt using try/except
– PS 2.2 – Format that data into a nested list (5 points)
- Format the data from PS 2.1 into a nested list.
Your nested list should look like this:
– PS 2.3 – Create a dictionary from a nested list (10 points)
- Use the nested list from PS 2.2 to create a dictionary with country as the key and a list of all cheeses from that country as the value.
- Use that dictionary to print the results alphabetically by country into a file named cheese-sorted.txt.
Example cheese-sorted.txt output:
PS 4.4 – Print out a sorted tally (10 points)
- Create a new dictionary with country as key and a total count of the cheeses from that country as the value.
- Print out each country along with the total count, sorted numerically by number of cheeses from most -> least.
