Cut-off Date: As announced on LMS
1. Students need to read the TMA instructions carefully and contact their tutors if further
clarification is needed.
2. TMA answer files should be submitted to LMS on or before the cut-off date. Late
submissions are penalized with marks deductions as per university regulations.
3. TMA answer file should be in WORD form. Other formats are not accepted and might
result-in disqualifying the work submitted.
4. TMA PT3 form should be completed with all information such as: student name and ID
number, section number, and tutor’s name. The PT3 TMA form should be inserted as the
FIRST page of the TMA answer file.
Plagiarism
The Arab Open University definitions of plagiarism
According to the Arab Open University regulations, the following acts represent cases of
plagiarism:
• Verbatim (exact) copying of printed material and submitting them as part of TMAs without
proper academic acknowledgement and documentation.
• Verbatim (exact) copying of material from the Internet, including tables and graphics.
• Copying other students’ notes or reports.
• Copying previous work submitted to any AOU branch.
• Using paid or unpaid material prepared for the student by individuals or firms.
Penalty on plagiarism
The following is the standard plagiarism penalty applied across AOU branches as per
Article 11 of the university regulations:
• Awarding of zero for a TMA wherein more than 40% of the content is plagiarized.
• Documentation of warning in the student record.
• Failure in the course to dismissal from the university for repeated plagiarism.
All University programmes are required to apply penalties that are consistent with the
University regulations.

TMA instructions
1- THIS IS A GROUP PROJECT TMA. Each team should consist of 3-4 students. This is
a good opportunity for students to enhance their professional skills in terms of team
working, communication, coordination, and time management skills.
2- Teams should be formed from students in the same section.
3- Each team should elect/select a TEAM LEADER. The team leader is responsible for
contacting the tutor to get approval for the TMA topic to avoid duplication.
4- Only the Team Leader should upload the TMA answer file on LMS before the cut-off date.
5- 60% of the TMA mark is awarded for the final REPORT (12 marks), while 40% (8 marks)
is INDIVIDUALLY awarded based on a presentation of the TMA report by all team
members.
TMA Questions:
In teams of 3-4 students, write a report addressing the following questions:
Question 1: (1000 words, 100 marks)
Select an Electronics manufacturing company and evaluate its strategic plans in
terms of sustainability orientation/implementation. Analyse how the company
addresses societal problems, and discuss its positive and negative impacts on local
communities?
Question 2: (1000 words, 100 marks)
Why is it challenging for the Electronics manufacturer to expand its eco-friendly
green products? Justify your answer. Explain how the company maintains its
natural capital in terms of the input/output rules. Select the most influential factor
(only one) that affects adoption of environmentally friendly innovations in the
Electronics manufacturing industry and justify your selection.

Final instructions:
• Format: Answers should be in the form of a REPORT that could include
headings, numbering, and bullet points.
• Answers of each question should be clearly labelled according to question
number.
• Document Format: Use “Times New Roman” font, size 14.
• Referencing: Answers must include in-text citation, and a list of resources
used in the HARVARD REFERENCING STYLE should be provided at the
end of the report.
• E-Library resources: Teams are expected to make use of the magnificent eresources available in the E-library, which is accessible from the LMS.
Generic Marking Structure:
Outstanding
(90% and
above)
Awarded for the reports that demonstrate a thorough
understanding of the subject through a well-structured argument
and excellent judgment and critical analysis skills. The answer
exhibits skills in researching and referencing for relevant
material and integrating it in the argument. The writing style is
professional, precise and clear with further scope for research.
Very Good
(80-89%)
Awarded for answers that demonstrate a good understanding of
the depth and breadth of the subject through a well-structured
answer. Students demonstrate evidence of reasoning and
reflection using theories, concepts and models. The writing style
is professional, precise and clear.
Good
(60-79%)
Awarded when the answer shows evidence of clear
understanding of the subject and of the key concepts. The answer
demonstrates reasonable conventions of writing, research and
analytical skills.
Satisfactory
(50-59%)
Given when an answer shows partial evidence of basic
knowledge and understanding of concepts and theories. The
works is mostly descriptive and narrative and lacks any judgment
or analysis. Language is simple with occasional errors.
Unsatisfactory
(Below 50%)
Given for answers that show an insufficient understanding of the
subject. The answer lacks structure and consists of irrelevant
information with poor or no judgment of information being
provided. Depicts poor language skills
