Visit Bombas (Links to an external site.)‘ website to learn about the company and its products, but especially their communication efforts (e.g., any sales promotions they have). Read about the company and their mission under the “About Us” tab, Get Free Bombas link (linked at bottom of the home page), and sign up for the newsletter if you are willing to do so. Visit their social media platforms (also linked at the bottom of the home page) and see what is posted, how often, level of engagement and interaction from consumers, etc. Then, you can watch a clip from Bombas’ appearance on Shark Tank from 2014:

Bombas Company Questions

1. Analysis: Based on what you observe from Bombas’ various communication tools, have they communicated superior value through their choice of tools and use of tools? Why/why not?
2. Toolbox Application: Bombas would like to use communication tools in the upcoming quarter to raise overall awareness of the organization, inform the target market of their organizational aims and product lines (particularly their specialty lines such as their Pride Collection, Black Hive Collection, and Disney Princess collections), and to ultimately increase revenue as a result of their communications campaign. With this in mind as well as what you know about the company, first identify who you believe the target market should be for this communication campaign. Then, considering who you believe to be the target market(s), identify three (3) communication tools out of the communication toolbox (i.e. promotional mix) that you recommend Bombas should use specifically for this campaign given the target market and objectives, providing your rationale for why you are selecting these three tools (they can be more general, e.g., advertising, or specific types of that tool such as TV advertising). These can include tools that they appear to already be using – but you need to make the case for why these tools matter given the target market and objectives for this campaign initiative.
3. Campaign Application: Bombas has decided to utilize TV advertising as a main communication tool in the campaign, in addition to the tools you identify in Q2. Develop and pitch a TV advertisement – in great detail – that would be used to achieve the objectives outlined in Question 2, for the identified target market, using class content relating to advertising decisions to help you do so (creative & media planning). Present your ideas for how you would encourage AIDA responses in your consumers with your campaign, particularly paying attention to the creative and planning decisions for your identified tool when applicable. Be specific! Finally, how would you work to integrate your TV advertisement with the other tools you’ve identified from Question 2 so as to create an integrated communications campaign, again being specific?
